BEA Account Opening Attestation service in Hong Kong facilitates Hong Kong permanent residents to apply for opening a Mainland Personal Type II bank Account* without leaving Hong Kong. The process is simple and fast and the convenience of payment in the Greater Bay Area is at your fingertips.

 

- Simple and fast application procedures: Easy to complete the application process.

- Free account opening:  No charge on account opening, no minimum balance requirement for Mainland accounts.

- Mobile payment throughout Greater Bay Area: After opening an account, you can bind your mainland account to major mobile payment APPs in the Mainland.

- Transaction Limits Enhance Fund Security: Mainland accounts are subject to daily and annual transaction limits.

 

- Customers aged 18 or above and with normal status of their BEA Hong Kong personal deposit accounts only need to hold a Hong Kong Permanent resident Identity Card, a Mainland Travel Permit for Hong Kong and Macau Residents (Home Visit Permit), a Hong Kong or Mainland cell phone number under their name, and go to the designated branches of BEA Hong Kong.

- Complete the application procedures for witnessing the opening of a Mainland account at the designated BEA Hong Kong branch.

- After completing the account opening approval, if the account is successfully opened, the customer will receive a notification and can go to the designated branch of BEA Hong Kong to collect account information and activate the account.

- Customers can remit funds to the Mainland account through BEA Hong Kong's remittance service.

- Customers can bind the Mainland accounts with mainstream mobile payment APPs in the Mainland to enjoy the convenience of mobile payment.

 

- Functions include depositing and withdrawing cash in the mainland, transferring funds, binding with mainstream mobile payment APPs in the Mainland for consumption and bill payment.

- Daily payment limit is RMB 10,000 (the daily withdrawal limit at mainland ATMs is RMB 1,000), and annual payment limit is RMB 200,000.

- Mainland Personal Type II Bank Accounts* are provided by The Bank of East Asia (China) Ltd. and are currently only available at BEA (China) branches and co-located sub-branches in the three cities of Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Zhuhai in the Greater Bay Area of the Mainland (excluding non-local sub-branches).

 

- The Bank of East Asia (China) Limited ("BEA China") is a wholly-owned subsidiary bank of The Bank of East Asia, Limited ("BEA Hong Kong") incorporated in Chinese Mainland. BEA China is not an authorized institution under the Banking Ordinance of Hong Kong and is not regulated by the Hong Kong Monetary Authority and cannot carry on any banking business or deposit-taking business in Hong Kong.

- BEA China is not permitted to conduct any business or accept deposits in Hong Kong. RMB deposits placed by customers in this account, including demand, time and call deposits, are protected in accordance with the Deposit Insurance Ordinance of the Mainland and are not protected by the Deposit Protection Scheme in Hong Kong.

- Acceptance of the Service by the Customers is a request for BEA Hong Kong to provide witnessing services to assist the Customers in opening a personal bank account (the "Account") with BEA China, and does not constitute an offer or invitation by BEA China to enter into a deposit agreement, and BEA Hong Kong does not participate in the application and recommendation of deposits under this Account.

- BEA Hong Kong is not involved in any decision making in relation to the application for opening this Account. The application will only take effect after it has been accepted by BEA China.
