BEA China Donates RMB 3 Million to Wuhan

The Bank of East Asia (China) Limited (“BEA China”) announced today that it will donate RMB 3 million to the Red Cross Society of China Wuhan Branch in support of the fight against the novel coronavirus outbreak.

 

The donation will be used to help purchase essential medicines, protective clothing, goggles and other medical supplies, and support front-line medical staff, so as to provide protection and support for medical workers in the city.

 

In addition, with the encouragement of the regulators, BEA China has rallied to the cause by introducing a series of temporary special policies for Hubei province, the epicentre of the outbreak. These include exemption from service fees on all transfers to enterprises and individuals in Hubei province; appropriate extensions to payment deadlines for enterprises and individual customers in Hubei province; exemption from service fees on transfers and wealth management products for individual customers in Hubei province; and provision of financial assistance to enterprise clients in Hubei province.
